Description: Name: Eldredgeops rana Age: Middle Devonian Formation: Moscow Formation Location: Penn-Dixie Quarry, near Hamburg, New York Size: Trilobite is 0.7 inches long! We recently acquired some nice fossils from the late Joseph Butterfield Collection (NJ). We will be auctioning these fossils here over the next few weeks. This is a nice, complete Elderdgeops rana from the Middle Devonian of New York. This distinct specimen was found years ago at the famous Penn-Dixie Quarry. The complete trilobite is inflated and exhibits fine detail. The individual facets of the eyes and the pustulose glabella are very well preserved. The dark-colored bug contrasts beautifully with the light grey matrix. The classic trilobite is well showcased on the large plate of shale.
