Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Here we have one of the rarest mocha ware forms ever produced. A photo and description of a matching jug is shown on page 23 in Jonathan Rickard’s definitive book “MOCHA and related dipped wares, 1770-1939”. The side and lid are decorated with a marbled and combed glaze. Below the rim are incised green glaze infilled bands. This pot is supported by 3 molded and applied white glazed feet with toes. The lid has the same mocha glazed decoration with an applied knob. Measuring 4 ¾” in height to the rim and 5 ½” to the top of the finial on the lid this amazing pot survives in original mint condition with no damage or repairs. At 250 years old, this survives because it has been cherished and cared for by generations of collectors who have appreciated its rarity and beauty.
