Each square bamboo side is approximately 2 cm (12/16 of an inch) in length. The writing characters are Kanji which originates in China, Han Chinese, in the first image, the closest Kanji character is jĆyĆ which translates to longevity thus health, and the second cufflink Kanji character Fu which translates to happiness, fortune and good luck.
