Description: Fab 1900 Black Starr Frost Sterling Art Nouveau MirrorPresented is a gorgeous, sterling silver and velvet lined mirror made by Black, Starr & Frost during the late 1800s or very early 1900s. There are approximately 40 little brass or steel screws attaching the sterling frame to the easel back frame, so you can remove the silver part to polish if desired. The mirror is in excellent condition. The sterling frame is done in a very fancy form. The easel back is in excellent condition and working perfectly. The whole silver frame is done in an openwork form decorated with flowers, scrolls and flowers surrounding latticework patterns. There is a lovely cartouche at the top of the mirror engraved with the initials JBL. The bottom of the piece is marked with the Black, Starr & Frost hallmark used between 1874 to 1908 and sterling. This piece is in fabulous overall condition. The velvet has wear, but certainly looks good. The silver could be removed and the velvet could be replaced, with any color, if so desired. There are no dents, no breaks, on splits, no monogram removals and no repairs. The mirror measures 10 3/4 by 13 1/4 inches. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
