Description: Presented is a fabulous French porcelain covered vegetable dish from the 1870s. This piece displays a gorgeous orange and gold pattern with classic French scroll and leafy details around the base and lid of the piece. The handles shows an interesting interwoven design. The design seemed to have an applied darker orange border with the light orange being hand painted. On both sides of the base of the dish, there is a stylized monogram, a W and T, interwoven, made up of the orange style decorations and pink roses to make up the letters. The underside of the dish is marked with the initials “E.C.” on a raised plaque for the maker. The “E” likely for “Ernie Du Bac Paris” as this is the mark we see in the plates and bowls we have in the same pattern. We have other pieces in this pattern. We encourage you to view our page or reach out if you are interested in more of this collection. The covered dish is in great overall condition, especially considering age. The pattern details and the gilding are in great shape with minimal wear. There are no breaks or chips in the porcelain, and no repairs.
