Description: Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster Vince Cunetto Relic [1996] USEDDescriptionGood Condition!Fender Custom Shop released an aged model earlier than Gibson.This is an early 1996 Stratocaster, aged by Vince Cunetto, a pioneer of aging and a well-known vintage expert. This is a 50s reissue in the so-called "Mary Kaye" style with an ash body/blonde finish and gold hardware. The first aged electric guitars were announced at the NAMM Show in 1995, and there were two models: the Nocaster and this Mary Kay style Strat. The aged finish is finished with a very thin nitrocellulose lacquer coating, recreating the texture of a real vintage guitar. This instrument has been used generously by the previous owner, and has real scratches and signs of use, giving it an aura that makes it seem like a vintage 50s Stratocaster. The medium-sized frets have been refretted and re-nutted. (The fingerboard surface has not been sanded, leaving the original relic intact.) The cavity inside the pickguard has been painted with electrodynamic paint to prevent noise.The string guide is round, and both the back panel and round holes have been replaced with the early '54 style of Strat.The top of the neck frets is in straight condition, and for vintage specs the string height is low and playability is comfortable, but the torque required to tighten the truss rod is currently on the stiff side.
