After nearly 30 years building custom furniture, it is time to start selling the hundreds of smaller figured off cuts that I have kicking around. Occasionally, I may add larger pieces but will try to steadily add new pieces over the coming months. I have mostly Crotch Walnut, Crotch Genuine Mahogany and Tiger Maple. All pieces are kiln dried and ready for use. Many have small defects but most can be worked around depending on your project. Large drying checks sometimes appear in the face of crotch walnut and mahogany. For the larger checks, I will have already secured using high quality epoxy, clear with no pigments added. Once finished, these virtually disappear. Look closely at the photos of the dry lumber as it is easier to see if checks were filled. This is the same process I use on my furniture and have had great results. All pieces have been jointed flat and milled to consistent thickness and then sanded to 150 through the wide belt sander so the thickness is consistent with no cup or bow to contend with. Some may move slightly in storage but because they are well seasoned, little or no movement will be expected. Some of the photos show the piece wet down with naphtha to show the figure better and to give an idea how each piece will look when finished.
