Description: This is a lovely and charming Fine Antique Old 19th c. English Impressionist Landscape Oil Painting on canvas, likely dating to the 1870's - 1880's. This artwork depicts a bucolic and tranquil pastoral scene, with small cottage homes, finely rendered trees, and several sheep idly grazing in the pasture, visible in the far distance. Near one of the cottages, a mother and her child can be seen, and in the center of the image, a lone man carrying a fishing pole is visible, along with a small wooden bridge. Signed: "F.T. Webb" in the lower left corner. I could not find much information on this artist, however an original watercolor cityscape painting by F.T. Webb is listed as being in The New Art Gallery Walsall permanent collection. Perhaps you know more about this artist or their work? Approximately 16 x 24 inches. Good condition for well over a century of age and storage, with some moderate edge wear, light scuffing, scratches, pinhole tears and mild age-related craquelure in a few areas (please see photos.) Acquired from an old collection in the Bay Area of Northern California. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer.
