Description: Up for bid is a vintage sterling canister box set with a French silver coin, made by Becht & Hartl of Newark, NJ for Cartier. The piece is 3 5/8 inches tall by 2 1/2 inches in diameter and weighs 131 grams. The slide-on lid is set with a French 1841 5 Francs coin. The lid has a knurled edge. The base is plain, with a flat foot. It has not been monogrammed. It is marked “CARTIER / STERLING / 654” with the (BH) trademark of Becht & Hartl. Condition on the box is good. There is a shallow dent in the foot, but otherwise just normal light wear. A nice piece!
