Description: MEASURES:Diameter : 6,89 inch ; Weight: 0,58 lbsCONDITIONS:Good general condition, some small flaws on the enamel and signs of wear scattered here and there due to the years.Item description: Fabulous copper plate fire-enamelled, with central decoration depicting a Greek ship with the keel depicting a dragon's head, classic of the ancient Greek fleets, with an iconography similar to the Odyssey, or the journey of Ulysses. Signed with a stamp on the back with the writing "B.M.B. Enamels on Copper, Florence", dating back to the first decades of the 20th century, around 1930.Useful information for the evaluation of the object :Unfortunately the work is not signed, it must be said, however, that the fire enamelling of metals, in this case on copper, is an extremely complex and long technique, only the greatest artists have attempted this field, including the most most important of all is Paolo De Poli, from Padua, Giò Ponti and Ettore Sottsass should also be mentioned and several foreign artists such as Jean Dunand and Camille Flaurè. Unfortunately, although the artistic quality of the plate is very high, most of these objects are not signed, therefore we are not able to define the authorship of this object. However, immediately under this description we have placed some similar objects made by the artists mentioned above, all quoted or sold at very high prices, all to give a general idea of the value of similar pieces fired enamelled on metal. Note the similarity with the enamelled copper plate from Turin, of the rear too, offered on Pamono for €1500.Final thoughts on the object:The patina that covers the object is wonderful, especially on the back and on the cartouche, oxidized and darkened by the passage of time, an object dating back around the 1920-1930. The decoration is beautiful, stylized in an impressionist style with futuristic elements of great value. Finally, it should be considered that the iconography of the Odyssey is particularly rare and appreciated on the art market. A real treat for art lovers and collectors. ENTER OUR EBAY SHOP. PORCELAINS, CERAMICS, TERRACOTTE, BRONZE, PAINTINGS, FURNITURE, GLASS AND MUCH MORE AS, FOR EXAMPLE: ..OUR COMMERCIAL POLICYAware of operating in the eBay market, our prices are often lower than the real value of the object, as often documented in our descriptions, and also lower than the prices at which very similar objects are offered on other online art sales platforms and antiques. At the same time, eBay reciprocates with the possibility of selling a high quantity of objects, so our commercial policy is to earn little for the single object, but sell a lot and therefore earn on the quantity. In fact, the asking price is always as low as possible, considering how much the item was paid for and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21% , according to the country in which the advertisement was made). For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it. SHIPPING WORLDWIDE - RETURN ALWAYS ACCEPTEDThe cost of packaging is also calculated in the shipping cost, and everything has increased by 19% because both ebay and paypal also take fees on the shipping cost. OUR SHIPMENTS:.Our shipments cost a little more than the average, but they are all shipments with professional packaging. Double box with a lot of bubble wrap around the object and a lot of soft material in the large cavities on all sides between the two boxes. This means that the package is much larger and heavier and therefore the cost of shipping increases, not to mention all the work necessary to carry out a similar packaging and the cost of the various materials used...
