Description: - The Fishes of Samoa by David Starr Jordan & A. Seale - The Golden Trout of the High Sierras by B.W. Evermann Bulletin of the Bureau of Fisheries; Volume XXV1906 First Edition & First Printing30 color plates (chromolithographic) <-- Verified Intact Folded Map of the Kern River region < -- Verified AttachedFYI: In "sold items" for "Fishes of Samoa" search, there are plates sold from a volume like this for up to $40 a plate! My preference: this book be enjoyed in its complete format. Notes: I rated this book in good condition, especially for a book 117 years old. There is general wear & aging, including cover scuffing and toned pages. Some pages with minimal bends at inner, lower corners. A few pages with smudges. No underlining, highlighting, written notes or marks. No former individual owner stamps/signatures. Solid sewn binding. Very clean book. I truly don't know how anyone else could be selling a nicer copy of this scarce volume. Please view the photos for examples of condition and content. Thanks! Over 1,000 genera and 2,500 species of fishes were named as a direct result of his activities. Jordan was a founding member of the Sierra Club. "Jordan's Law" in biogeography states that populations of most-closely-related species are separated from one another by physical barriers."
