The major diameter of these washers is 11/16 or .688. The standard diameter of a barrel is .7 at the muzzle. They will fit on any 1/2 thread, no matter the TPI. They ensure the proper torque because they crush at the correct torque. Then they act like a lock washer to keep the End of Barrel Device (EoBD) from loosening. It also gives you over one full turn of adjustment so you can "time" your device if needed. A device you would need to time would be a muzzle brake where the holes have to point up, or to the side. It goes between the EoBD and the shoulder of the threads. All crush washers are good for one use then discarded.
