Description: This 4x6 inch American Flag was flown on the first flight of the NASA F/A-18 Active Aeroelastic Wing on November 15, 2002. The AAW aircraft was designated as an X-Plane in 2006 and is now known as the X-53. This joint NASA/Boeing/AFRL/Navy program is being conducted to test the aeroelastic characteristics of a modified wing on an F/A-18. This flag comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by test pilot Dana Purifoy and a 5x7 photo taken of the aircraft during that first flight. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to own a fabulous piece of aviation memorabilia. Combined Shipping Available. Check out my other auctions for more aerospace collectibles.
