Description: Description: Florida Agatized Coral, which is actually a Chalcedony pseudomorph after coral. Appearing as Limestone geodes lined with botryoidal Agate, Quartz crystals and/or druzy Quarts fingers. 38 - 25 million years old, Oligocene - Miocene Period. Agatized Coral was adopted in 1979 as the state mineral of Florida. Locality: From the Econfina, Withlacoochee and Suwannee Rivers, southern Georgia and Northern Florida. Measurements (approximate): 4 3/8" length, 2 1/4" wide, 1" thick Weight (approximate): 134 grams / 4.7 ounces This specimen was a part of a private collection purchased from a gentleman in Anderson, SC.
