Beautiful vintage Swedish art glass sculpture of a polar bear by artist Folke Walwing. The clear crystal polar bear is about 4 1/8" tall x 7.25" long and x 2.5" wide at longest, tallest and widest points. It has an unpacked weight of 2 lb 4.3 oz. The underside is engraved: Maleras FW. Folke Walwing began his career at the Maleras Glassworks in 1924 as a glass engraver. In time, he became the director of the company and led until 1970. During his time at Maleras, he worked with started as a glass engraver at Maleras in 1924, became its director and led the company until 1970. During his tenure, he worked with notable Swedish glass artists Hannelore Deutler, Lisa Larsson, Marianne Westman, Erika Hoglund, Klas-Goran Tinbeck, Robert Ljubez and, of course, Mats Jonasson.
