Description: For the Birds: An Uncommon Guide, by Laura Erickson, 1994 softcover 1st edition, signed by author, vintage, collectible. A companion volume to the author's radio show of the same name. Erickson lived in Duluth, MN. The book is arranged by day of the year, one page for each day, a mini-essay on each page discussing a bird which could be seen on that day. Duluth being a migratory choke point for North American birds, the book covers approximately 250 species. Space on each page for a reader's notes of that day. An excellent gift for any birder who lives in the upper Midwest. This copy is pre-owned in VERY GOOD condition, no rips no tears no marks no stains no frays no turned down pages; spine, covers and all pages intact; does show a little wrinking on the front cover (see pic), some very very minor shelf wear on the front cover corners, and of course the author's inscription and signature (see pic).
