Description: Rare souvenir building bank from 1933 of Fort Dearborn, a replica of the original 19th century fort constructed as an exhibit at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair, the Century of Progress Exposition. This souvenir bank is cast in spelter metal with good detail all over, from the log construction to the multiple roofs. The front reads "CHICAGO WORLD'S FAIR - 1833-1933 - FORT DEARBORN", and the base reads "PRUDENTIAL INSURANCE CO." The bottom is missing the metal plate that had the coin slot/trap. There's whitish oxidation on the finish, otherwise it's in fine shape. It measures 4.5" tall by 4.25" wide by 3" deep, and weighs a little over 1 lb. A terrific souvenir building for your World's Fair or Chicago collection. Get it now.
