The cleaver is quite sharp and has very minimal age or imperfections. The makers marks are bold and easily legible. Please see photos for close detail & dimensions. There is wear and signs of use as to be expected. Foster bros was a cutlery factory in New York that closed in 1958. i believe that this cleaver is one of 300,000+ cleavers that foster made for the military in WW2 as this is mentioned online for the 2190 marking.
