Framed RODGER JOHNSON ColorArt Crewel COUNTRY SHEEP Folk Art JCA 6 x 8 New

Description: Up for sale is a completed, hand crafted and framed ColorArt Picture from the JCA Inc. Needle Treasures Collection and shows a lamb. The design is printed onto fabric and then embellished with crewel stitches. It was designed by Rodger Johnson as his signature is printed on the fabric design. It is just charming! There is so much detail in this sampler. The kit number was #00702 and the Title was COUNTRY SHEEP. I had another model of this that was the photo model and there was a label indicating that it was done on 9/24/84. This is a vintage model that has been in storage all these years. tHE TITLE OF THE KIT IS: country sheep. The size is 6 x 8 with frame. Also have another model of this embroidery which is not in a frame but is completed with piping all around the 4 sides - size is 7 x 5. Just needs some type of fastener attached to the back to hang this. If you are interested, just let me know. Would look good together with another that I have of a chicken. (WILL UPDATE PHOTOS) As are all JCA kits, the crewel is done with 100% wool crewel yarn. Included is a picture of a kit that I found for this crewel. This picture was a hand crafted model to a needpoint kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished. It was covered in plastic to protect the needlepoint which I removed to take the photo. I was able to acquire quite a few of them; some were just matted and others framed. I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website: "Due to the death of our owner, Alan S. Getz, JCA, Inc. has ceased operations indefinitely. We would like to thank our loyal customers who have supported JCA for over 50 years. JCA manufactures premium needlecraft products and distributes fine knitting yarns.
