Description: This UNREAD 1/4 leather edition book from The Franklin Mint is in NEAR PERFECT condition with no markings inside or out and no attached bookplates. There are no real imperfections or even any wear. This is a totally unused book, evident by the fact that the entire text block is still stuck together at the gilt edges because the pages have never even been separated for the first time after being treated with gold leaf during production. In the text block pictures, you may notice a very slight waviness. This is simply because it had been humid for the past few days in my area before I took the pictures. This is completely normal, and the text block will straighten out to regular again on its own once the humidity level goes back down. But I'm sure whoever is reading this is a collector and already knows this! COMBINED SHIPPING is always automatically active, and if you buy 5 or more in the same transaction, FREE SHIPPING!! Please feel free to check out the HUNDREDS of different premium collectible books I have for sale right now, nearly all of which are LIKE NEW or actually BRAND NEW and unopened. Subscribe or check back for new listings of rare, interesting, and beautiful books. I ship and physically mail books daily and often even within hours of purchase. It should be noted that the translation is different(and more highly-regarded)from the Easton Press editions, which uses Constance Garnett. And this edition also has a helpful glossary of names and who they are and their relationships to other characters, along with a small index of Russian words used in this translation. Internally, this edition is the exact same as expensive Oxford University Press edition of The Oxford Library of the World's Great Books. Same paper, typography, illustrations, arrangement... the only difference is the style of cover. Anna Karenina is a novel by the Russian author Leo Tolstoy, first published in book form in 1878. Considered to be one of the greatest works of literature ever written, Tolstoy himself called it his first true novel. When William Faulkner was asked to list what he thought were the three greatest novels, he replied: "Anna Karenina, Anna Karenina, and Anna Karenina."
