Description: Regarded by Frederic Remington as one of his most challenging sculptures to create, ”The Cheyenne” reflects Remington's desire to depict a horse in natural flight. At full gallop, all four of the horse's legs are seen off the ground, with the Cheyenne Indian rider holding a spear in his hand and balanced by the length of a buffalo robe. The Cheyenne is Remington in full mastery of his art. This statue is reproduced in solid bronze, cast with patina and then hand-rubbed to bring out detail and highlights. The statue is then mounted on a fine marble base with an etched brass plate. Cast in the traditional "lost wax Casting" method. PLEASE NOTE: The Cheyenne bronze will arrive with the whip attached to the rope from horse's Halter so it does not get lost in shipping. It is necessary to remove the whip from the rope and put the whip in the hole in the right hand. Bend the whip tips to show action.
