Description: Incredible historical tintype photograph of Fredrick Law Olmstead and his wife Mary Perkins Olmstead. She already had children when they married and he took on the role as father to them. In the background you can see a young boy photo bombing into the image. Although my pics dont capture it well, the focus is very good on the original image. House in a nice gutta percha case withers the usual decorative gold foil overlays. Olmstead famously designed Central Park, The US Capital building and The Biltmore estate in North Carolina. The actual location or this photo is unknown but most likely is set at his personal residence. I especially love the mirror like reflection in the windows. This is an original image.
