Description: This is an unopened roll of Fredrix canvas made especially for digital printing. Fredrix has made canvas for artists (originally just for painting) since 1868 and produces an excellent, professional quality product! This canvas for digital printing is roughly equivalent to 18oz painting canvas which makes it a relatively heavy weight cotton canvas... especially so by inkjet standards. (I've printed on a large variety of fabrics and this is by far the heaviest canvas I have put through an inkjet printer.) The surface is quite nice; while relatively matte, it is not a "dead matte," if you will, it has a bit of sheen to it without reflecting so much light that it is impossible to see the image. I found it to be a very satisfying surface upon which to print. I bought a few rolls in the 2000's which is how I came to have the sample prints that I photographed for this listing. The roll is 44inches wide by 40 ft long. I paid close to $300 for each roll at the time of purchase. This canvas is thick so it is not backed with paper, as are most fabrics manufactured to pass through inkjet printers so I don't believe there is much which can go out of date, as a matter of fact, there is no date stamp on the label. This canvas can easily be used for painting on with oil paints, in addition to printing, or for a combination of both! Please feel free to ask any questions and thanks for looking!
