Description: Vintage 80's famous French brand "Jean Marithe et Francois Girbaud" bubble hem mini skirt. It features a grey colored stretch denim fitted yolk and a pleated taffeta skirt. The top part (yolk) features pockets and interesting symmetrical stitching. The waist is 64cm with a large, exposed metal zip, center back. There is no waist band. It is a small/petite size, even though the label says 12. It is lined with a black cotton fabric into which the bubble hem is sewn. This skirt is an intricate design typical of the 80's high end jeans fashion labels. They incorporated new garment construction (or rather deconstruction) moving away from the more formal norms. No doubt inspired by the Japanese designer revolution which swept the fashion industry in Europe. This skirt is a classic, timeless piece from the era of change in fashion.
