Description: This lance model replaced the Model 1816 during the Second Republic. Appears to have never been demounted. Much of the original finish remains on the shaft. Shaft is slightly warped, which can be remedied by displaying it in soldid blocks. Iron fittings were polished at some time. Comes with pennant (flamme) as shown, which is either original or a very old reproduction. Length falls within the range noted in Armes Blanches Militaire Francaises by Christian Aries.
