The Mini Tesla coil can light up a fluorescent light tube when the tube is brought into close proximity to the coil. This phenomenon occurs due to Gas Ionization. The electromagnetic field interacts with the gas inside the fluorescent tube, typically a low-pressure mercury vapor gas. This interaction causes the gas to ionize, creating free electrons and positively charged ions within the tube.
