It is believed to be a 30-million-year-old stone that is felt to be highly energetic. Some say it is found only in the Arizona desert, and others place the origin of some Cintamani stones in Bali or the Philippines. A growing consensus sees Saffordite as being a pseudotektite, and thus more similar to obsidian, but this would indicate volcanic origin, and an originating volcano for these stones has not been identified. Saffordite or Cintamani is known as a "thought gem" or "wishing stone," and also said to be the Stone of Peace. They are believed to help a person attain the wisdom of Buddha.
