Description: Up for Buy it Now or Best Offer is an Original promotional oil painting for the 1987 HBO movie "THE IMPOSSIBLE SPY" painted by my brother, Artist / Illustrator George A. Bush (1953-2023) Down below in this ad is a list of my Brothers lifetime accomplishments. It's a long one thats for sure. George was well known in the art industry throughout his career spanning from the late 1970's to the late 1990's. There were not a lot of his works sold publicly till now, after his unfortunate passing. Prices on his paintings that did sell to the public through places like Heritage Auctions, eBay and some private galleries, ranged from $750 to $10,000.00 and that was years ago. Around 2001 George was diagnosed with M.S. ( Multiple Sclerosis ). A disease that affects different people in different ways. For George the first sings of something being wrong started with his eyesight. Of all things to be affected first, for him as a professional artist on the top of his career, he told me that he was having spells where his vision started jumping / twitching as he described it. That was in 1995 and ever so slightly it got worse as time went on. He kept on with his artwork till his vision got to the point where it took him months to complete just 1 painting. That was around 1998. His wife was a really good artist so she continued a bit doing paintings for paperback book covers. It was a joint effort as George with several different reading glasses taped together would do some of the higher detailed areas on her paintings like the faces and hands. Slowly George started losing his balance and the strength in his legs, then his arms, It was so hard to see such a talented Brother just fade away. Unfortunately with a name like his, web searches keep popping up things related to the former president George W. Bush. Even though the middle name is different, you still have to search past the former president items. BACK TO THIS PAINTING.... The painting itself measures 9 x 14 inches. The Gesso covered masonite board the painting is on measures 15 x 20 inches. The painting does not have the white movie name or the HBO logo on it. That was added/imposed to the dark area of the painting for the movie promotion. The client requested that George needed to leave the painting unsigned. This was not an unusual request for some of his published works. But my brother most always hid some sort of identifier in the painting somewhere. It took me a bit to find it, but it's there hidden on a rock. I have a photo posted showing his identifying mark. The tape across the top on the back of this painting, that is written by George. He also wrote George A. Bush in permeant marker on the back. Also 7/87 is written on the back indicating that he completed this in July of 1987. Currently as of 12/28/23 I am trying to list a different work of art here on eBay every day. I have comic art from DC comics WEIRD WAR and a few art pieces from George's good friend, Dan Adkins and I might have some items from another friend Jim Steranko, one of DC Comics top artists.
