Description: A very interesting and rare clock with the so-called 'Potsdamer Gong' is being sold here. See the video in the eBay gallery above. The clock dates from the German Third Empire period and is in excellent condition. The 'Potsdamer Gong' was the Prussian garrison song ("Üb immer Treu und Redlichkeit") of the church in Potsdam at the time and was installed by Kienzle in 1933 as a music reel in some clocks. Kienzle's advertising solgan at the time was: "Deutsch die Uhr, deutsch der Klang" - means 'german the clock, german the sound'. The garrison song always begins on the half hour. After the war (1945) these music reel had to be removed. However, some clocks were spared from this, including the one offered clock here. This clock is specifically for collectors. The clock is sent with DHL from Germany.
