Description: Gilbert American Flyer 710 early black rail Automatic Track Trip 1946-47 Very uncommon Gilbert American Flyer 710 early black rail S Gauge Automatic track section 1946-47. Actually a quite nice design, but was too expensive to manufacture and quickly discontinued. This is the first generation of S gauge accessory power track trip for automatic operating cars introduced in 1946. The track and the two extra power rails are integrated as one, wires are connected to the 2 screw terminal posts. The power is picked up by the early operating cars with a special shoe between one of the trucks. When car is on this special track section, and a button is pressed, the car operates. These are hard to find, and ONLY work with the early post war operating cars that have the special pickup shoe on one of the trucks. Tight terminals and layout ready.
