Description: A very special Christmas Ornament in its original box. This is an artistic style known as Eglomise. This art style is most unique and it began in China in 1802. Native born New Englander Marsha York adopted this style circa 1980. Ms York creates a detailed image which usually captures a place found in New England. Then this picture is painted inside the ornament by going through a small hole using a very small curved brush. That is the art form known as Eglomise. Marsha York’s art is distributed by Kaninpress, again a New England distributor out of Portsmouth New Hampshire.Each ornament is individually hand painted therefore one of a kind, you will never see your particular ornament in anyone else’s home. I am describing this as a Christmas ornament, but as is the case with most forms of art, it certainly could and should be displayed year round.
