Description: MEASURES:Height: 3,15 inch; Width: 2,05 inch; Depth: 2,36 inchCONDITIONS:Perfect in every way . Item description:Wonderful statuette depicting a dwarf caramogi bagpiper, in polychrome hard-paste porcelain entirely hand-decorated and glazed with third-firing firing, signed under the base with a brand in blue under enamel, with a crowned letter "N", hand-made brand, pointed brush. The sculpture can be dated between the end of the 18th and the very first decades of the 19th century, 1760-1820.Information on artist and/or manufacturer:The Ginori factory in Doccia was one of the most prestigious European porcelain manufacturers. It was born by the will of the Marquis Carlo Ginori in 1737 in Doccia. The descendants of Carlo Ginori will continue to be the owners and to manage it until 1896, when the merger with the Richard Ceramic Society of Milan will take place, giving life to the famous "Richard Ginori". In the photos immediately below this description we have put historical notions of the manufacture, taken from our book in French "Manuel de la porcelaine européenne", with some of the numerous brands used, including ours, the first of "Doccia", used from 1737 until to 1820, as stated in the notes of the brands in the French volume.Useful information for the evaluation of the object:In the last photos immediately below this description, there are also two small statuettes 12.5 cm and 12.7 cm high, therefore slightly larger than this one and also a little older, from the mid 1700s while our sculpture is from the late 1700s, early 1800s, listed at Christie's at €9000-10000. All to give an idea of the maximum value of small sculptures made in the first artistic production of Ginori di Doccia. We are talking about an object that could easily be estimated around 2000-3000€. The English auction house of Christie's is by far the most important auction house in the world, and is aimed above all at a particularly wealthy niche audience, we are offering the object on ebay and for this reason the object is offered obviously at a much lower price.Final thoughts on the subject:The artistic quality of the object is very high, note the beauty and at the same time sympathy of the face and the beauty of the dress, full of folds especially on the trousers. Finally, the ceramic mixture is excellent, hard and rich in kaolin, as only the oldest porcelains were made, when this material was not yet running out. The almost caricatured style of the subject represented is beautiful, with a prominent hump on the back and a bagpipe in hand. The ancient patina is very evident throughout the sculpture and especially under the base. Absolutely ancient brand, nothing to do with the classic Ginori brand, which is easily found in younger remakes. ENTER OUR EBAY SHOP PORCELAINS, CERAMICS, TERRACOTTE, BRONZE, PAINTINGS, FURNITURE, GLASS AND MUCH MORE AS, FOR EXAMPLE: .OUR COMMERCIAL POLICYAware of operating in the eBay market, our prices are often lower than the real value of the object, as often documented in our descriptions, and also lower than the prices at which very similar objects are offered on other online art sales platforms and antiques. At the same time, eBay reciprocates with the possibility of selling a high quantity of objects, so our commercial policy is to earn little for the single object, but sell a lot and therefore earn on the quantity. In fact, the asking price is always as low as possible, considering how much the item was paid for and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21% , according to the country in which the advertisement was made). For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it. REMEMBER TO PUT ME IN THE FOLLOWING SELLERS LISTFor any additional information or clarification we are at your complete disposal, so contact us via message here on eBay. SHIPPING WORLDWIDE - RETURN ALWAYS ACCEPTEDThe cost of packaging is also calculated in the shipping cost, and everything has increased by 19% because both ebay and paypal also take fees on the shipping cost. OUR SHIPMENTS:.Our shipments cost a little more than the average, but they are all shipments with professional packaging. Double box with a lot of bubble wrap around the object and a lot of soft material in the large cavities on all sides between the two boxes. This means that the package is much larger and heavier and therefore the cost of shipping increases, not to mention all the work necessary to carry out a similar packaging and the cost of the various materials used..
