Description: 1880s Ore Knob Copper Mine trinity silver gold intermingled vein with a little copper quartz ore specimen. Historic registered North Carolina deep earth. filled and nonproducing mine shaft specimen that no longer exists. Mine information can be found online. Measurements from the longest points 3-1/2 inches x 3-1/4 inches x 2-1/4 inches. About 2 lbs. quartz ore natural with the large vein slightly filed away because it had a rust looking crust overlaying the vein. Gold can be seen on the outer surface and also show signs of gold intermingling in the silver vein. Large mixed gold spots show on the outer surface and in the silver vein. Quartz with a hint of copper. No magnetic properties. Photo show how wide the main vein is, it also has smaller veining and pockets that are partly still crusted. Raw silver does tarnish over time and turns bluish black. Photos show a streak test sitting in 14K, 18K. 22K Nitric and muriatic combined gold testing acids, you can see a little bright blue in the 22K acid which indicates copper in the high-grade gold.
