For your consideration is a Mamod TE1a Live Steam Tractor made in England in the 1980s.This item was around for 60+ years without a whole lot of changes. It was still in production until August 2024 when the company decided to close doors. https://www.mamod.co.uk/shop-categories/1313-traction-engine The site might be down now.At the current exchange rate, this was around $350 This Live Steam Tractor is in good condition for its age but it's not perfect.It has been air tested (video) and should not give much trouble to operate on steam.It is complete, including the original box that is also in good but not perfect condition.The box has the original inserts though.The tractor is 100% original. The main thing the little toy needs is a thorough cleaning.My pet peeve is the use of tap water. The calcium it contains creates a whitish residue which could easily be avoided by using distilled water. The calcium can be cleaned by boiling a few times a combination of (distilled) water and vinegar. Adding CLR also helps. I didn't see any dent, but the paint is flaking in a few places, especially the wheels.There is a bit of surface rust. It is mostly located on the frame of the water level sight (photo). This is still a nice tractor that is mechanically sound and remains gift-able, but not to a perfectionist. You will need some solid fuel (anywhere camping supplies are sold) and distilled water (I insist :-) ) is strongly recommended. Please select the shipping system that suits you best.
