Description: This listing is for one USED / PRE-OWNED copy of Good Dog, Bad Zombie (1st edition by Make Big Things) and its two expansions that came out with the game on Kickstarter in 2018, which are Unlikely Allies expansion and the Weird Smells expansion. The game and expansions are COMPLETE as they have all the pieces and components needed to play. The cards and pieces have been counted to make sure everything is present. However, the Unlikely Allies expansion originally came in an envelope, I don't have the original envelope anymore so it is missing the envelope. I placed it in a generic envelope, but the official one is gone if that is something that is a concern to you. Both of the expansions fit into the base box (as you can see in the last two pictures). The base game itself has been played before a couple times. It is in good condition. The game comes with clear standee bases to hold the coated cardboard humans, dogs and zombies to be slotted into them. The dogs and human survivors are slotted into the plastic bases. The zombies however are folded into a triangle shape and lightly taped to hold that shape. This ended up being a better option when we played as the zombies we were concerned about damage to the cardboard over time if the zombies were pulled out of the bases often (unlike the dogs and humans which were left in). We felt this was better for the longevity of the zombie pieces, but this may or may not be a deal breaker for some so I am noting it here. This game is designed for 2 to 4 players to cooperatively play as dogs (good dogs at that) that miss humans and go around finding and then attempting to save the human survivors by herding them to the park where they live with the dogs throwing balls and giving belly rubs happily ever after. When you play you use the cards in your hand to decide what actions you will take on your turn. I included some pics of the action cards (the game calls them energy cards). They have options like herding, chewing, barking, etc. If I remember correctly the original kickstarter for this used backer submitted dog photos to make the energy cards?? The back of the player dog card (that you play as) will give a recap of what each action does. One of the things you will do in this game is HERD the zombies onto either the cliff space or the shoreline/water space. That destroys the zombie and gets it off the board. Chewing also destroys the zombie. If you spawn a human by succeeding in the D20 dice roll scenario on the scent card (location card) and a zombie is on the spot the person becomes zombie chow and you move farther up the feral track. Hitting the top of the feral track means the dogs go back to the wild and abandon all humans and you lose the game. If zombies pile up and get into the park "Central Bark" then you move up a point on the feral track and that zombie that moved into the park despawns. Zombies are spawned after every persons turn, so in the manner of most cooperative games it is a tough balance of making decisions and working as a group. You can scale the difficulty of the game by deciding where to start on the feral track as per the rulebook. The game is for 2 to 4 players, however theoretically you can add a 5th you may however want to make it more difficult if you do. I have not used either expansion (obviously for Weird Smells as it is still sealed), so I can't comment on how they effect game play. This copy of the game I am selling also has 3 blank human survivor cards (one blank for each human ability) that is included. The game is super cute. The only real negative that I have for anyone considering buying it is that since they wanted to print all the cards, etc in the US, they had to make everything pretty small due to cost of manufacturing. The game boards are small and the cards are also small, especially the human survivor cards, they are really tiny. This might be an issue if you have trouble seeing tinier print and/or picking up small pieces (or if you play games with small children or the elderly who usually have less dexterity). I have no affiliation with either Make Big Things (the original maker of this game) or with The TESA Collective (the current owner/manufacturer of the game), but I will say for anyone who would like this game, but needs a larger size they have a Kickstarter that is over for a 2nd edition that they made everything slightly larger. The Kickstarter has ENDED, but for an unknown amount of time they may still allow people to late pledge. The pledges are not expected to be delivered until sometime in 2025 so not ideal if you are needing a game now, but would be ok if you need a larger print copy and can wait. Hope that helps, this is a super cute game with dogs and zombies. Thanks for looking!
