These kinetic sculpture clocks by Gordon Bradt have been handcrafted in brazed and molten solid brass at Kinetico Studios for over 40 years. The clocks are highly polished and coated with clear lacquer. The little men and the unique coiled gear train are driven by an electric 4rpm synchronous motor, to keep accurate time. The Six Man Clock stands 9 inches tall. All men work away in realistic fashion, pushing and pulling various levers and cranks, appearing to be driving the clock. There is a complete operating manual online at gordonbradt.com, below is some pertinent information from that manual: Noises The clock is driven by a synchronous timing motor. These motors commonly make humming, buzzing, clicking or grinding noises. This is normal and does not indicate any malfunction of the motor or clock. The noises may come and go throughout the life of the motor. The handmade gears, men and parts will also naturally make noise as they operate. Squeaking noises usually indicate that the clock needs oil directly on where it is squeaking. Over time, the part that is squeaking will wear out without oil. Maintenance Our Kinetic Sculpture clocks are first a piece of artwork, that just happen to keep time! The clocks are handmade of soft brass, and can wear easily. The motors are also vulnerable, and may fail under prolonged use. We recommend that you only start up the clock when you are there to enjoy it or want to show it off. You could also put the clock on a timer, so that it will come on and go off at certain times. Never leave your clock unattended for lengthy periods, in case something breaks or jams while you are away from the clock.
