Description: Gorgeous Antique Pair c1810 English Georgian Sterling Silver Candelabra TopsPresented is a remarkable pair of antique English sterling silver candelabra tops made by John Roberts & Company in 1810. Each large candelabra holds three candles. The arms are done in a twist form and have leaf accents. The bobeches come completely apart, as you can see in the photographs below and each part was separately cast for maximum detail and quality. There are wonderful leaf accents and decorative rims adorning each candle holder. We do not have the candlestick bases for these candelabra tops. The part of these candelabras that extends down and would be inserted into the candlestick measures, on the exterior, 25 mm at the top and tapers to 24 mm at the bottom on one of the candelabras. The other candelabra has the same measurements. The silver that would insert into the candlestick extends down approximately 29 mm for each. Although it would be possible to trim approximately 9 mm off each without hurting the hallmarks. Each piece is marked with the crown for the city of Sheffield, the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of King George III’s head and a maker’s mark for John Roberts & Company. The base of each candelabra is also marked with a date letter L for the year 1810. This set is in fabulous overall condition. There are no missing pieces, no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs. Each candelabra measures 15 1/4 inches wide and is 9 7/8 inches tall. The combined weight of the pair is 2651 grams or 93.5 ounces. All of this weight is sterling silver. There is nothing here but solid sterling silver. No weighting of any kind..
