Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous Stevens & Williams Art Glass cobalt glass finger bowl and under plate with cranberry glass threading, c. 1880's. This lovely bowl has beautiful cobalt glass threading applied on the exterior with ribbed paneled body giving the threading an unusual wavy appearance. The technique of applying a thin layer of contrasting glass as decoration on an item was originally created by Frederick Carder (of Steuben glass fame) when he worked at Stevens & Williams in England prior to coming to the U.S. The bowl measures 2 3/4" high and 5" in diameter. This stunning bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
