Gorgeous vintage Old Cottage Toys "Old Lady" doll, from the UK. 10 1/2 inches.

Description: Offering a gorgeous 10.5-inch tall historical character doll, circa 1972, "Old Lady", by Old Cottage Toys, Allargate, England. She seems to be scarce, as I cannot find any online images to compare her with. The design and construction are identical to the Old Cottage Toys "Welsh Girl" doll. Her face is a curious blend of baby-doll and grandma features, double-chinned but otherwise unlined or wrinkled. She is very unlike a variety of "realistic" old person dolls that have facial features that verge on being decrepit. Made of stuffed felt with jointed arms and legs and a swivel polyvinyl acetate (hard rubber or composition compound) head, she has lovely painted features including pretty blue eyes, penciled eyebrows, delicate eyelashes, brows, mouth, rosy cheeks, double chin, and lovely white hair pulled back into a bun, under a black knit wool cap decorated with flowers. She wears a complete and detailed multi-layered outfit with a maroon buttoned wool coat, patterned woven skirt, black slip, gray wool stockings and sensible plain black shoes. Excellent condition with no damages or repairs, no fading or stains, no holes or odors as she has recently been rediscovered in a lightproof drawer in a smoke-free home. Lacks the wrist tags from Old Cottage Toys. Cane is stitched onto mitten; handbag is detachable.
