Description: Grant Home Run Johnson 1974 Laughlin Old Time Black Stars #22 PSA NM 7 A powerful righthanded swing brought Johnson the nickname "Home Run" in the dead-ball era. One of the early players, he was born in 1874 and in '95 began a career with many top clubs. In 1910, while with the Havana Reds, he outhit Ty Cobb and Wahoo Sam Crawford of the Detroit Tigers in a twelve-game series in Cuba. Johnson played for clubs in Chicago, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Brooklyn among others, and also did some managing. He wound up with the Buffalo Giants at age 58!
