Well, this might be a long-shot ... but, what the heck, as I'll try anyways ... so, have you perhaps ever seen the '87 G.D. Backstage Passes from either Irvine Meadows ? - or Providence, R.I. ? I know, I know ... quite possibly long-shot - but, my point is - this little life-like " Object " on this Pass - the Artistic Brainstorm of Griff ! obviously ... it was actually the " Device " being held up high - almost like a sacrificial " Offering " - by none other than the " Winged Eyeball " Character on that Pass design !!! Way-cool, indeed ... So, if perhaps you were checking this one out - thinking wow, that's pretty cool looking - but, what is it ? It's indeed " that-thing " the Winged-Eyeball is holding up - offering to the Sky !!! Ha ! But ... in actuality - it is Griffin's Creative Imagination & Artistic Design-Image of a " Hopi Mask " ... a Tribal Mask Image ! - right on a Grateful Dead Backstage Pass !! ... designed by the one & only - Rick Griffin !!! The Rock 'n Roll art Mastermind ! himself ... " Griff " ! Totally one of the Best ! of All-Time - who was indeed personally responsible for a wide variety of the " Coolest of the Cool ! " Grateful Dead Backstage Pass designs in the Mid-to-Late-'80's Grateful Dead Touring Era !!! A Black background on this one - with an Awesome ! looking Fire-Engine like Red !! on the Hopi Mask !!! Killer indeed ... And Musically ? - as far as this 6/11/92 Show at " The Knick " goes ? Wow !!! This is indeed one of those " Dead Fan Memories " that I'll never forget ... as the Tapes of these Shows were hustled to my snail mail box ( Yeah ! ... the Early-'90's !!! ) in less-than a week ! And ... that was pretty darn fast - for a little Nak-to-Nak & then Send ! But ... it was way-worth it in hindsight - as I was told that I needed these tapes real-fast - since naturally, one of my Taping Buddies got an Impressive ! Audience recording - and the Show was so noteworthy from both a " Hot ! " and " They're-On !! " standpoint. And, as I was ready to jump right in the Good Ol' Tour Ride ! ( a 1983 BMW 320i !!! ) - and go out on the open road to see 10-straight Shows on this '92 Summer Tour ... this was a way-welcome gesture. A little just-a-few-days old analog 1st Gens for the Cassette Car Stereo !!! Whoa !?! Oh how times have changed - but dang sometimes I do wish they hadn't. A generational thing where we were ' Always ' Grateful ! for Everything !! ... and, when the Boys were " On " - Whoa !?! ... I mean look-out below !!!
