Use a gun-specific degreaser and a small brush to work away all dirt, oil, lubrication, and residue. Rubbing alcohol is a good last step to remove moisture, but alone is not strong enough to cut through gun oil. A clean gun makes for a clean install.Peel and Stick. Peel the material off the template, one piece at a time. Place it centered on the surface and work it in using your fingers. If need to, peel off and reposition until you are satisfied with the placement.Heat and Trim. Use a heat gun or blow dryer to get the vinyl to conform to the shape of the surface. Take your time and work away wrinkles and air bubbles. Use a sharp hobby knife to trim away excess material. Overlap the extra and press firmly to set. Heat again to finish.
