This copy has ads at the end with a date-code of 9.85, September 1885. The original owner signed the ffep in 1886. Original cloth binding has spotting, soiling, wear, fading. The fold-out map has a repaired tear. The inner hinges are broken, but the webbing is intact so the boards are not separated from the textblock, but the textblock is loose. You can see from the photos that this book has aged, has soiling, and is worn. But, the pages are not plagued by foxing, which is uncommon for a book that lived most of its life in England.
