Description: Original c.1856, half-plate ambrotype of the Risher family in half of its original case. Case is 6" x 4.75". They are identified by an original note which has been placed back inside of the case behind the photo as found. The family members shown are: John Cready Risher (1815-188), Nancy Denny McClure Risher (1808-1875), Sarah Cready Risher Snodgrass (1845-1917), John McClure Risher (1849-1919). Risher was a wealthy coal mine owner and built barges for the coal industry. At the time of this photo they lived in Hope Church, PA. Ambrotype is in very good antique condition with some age-related spotting; any lighter areas of spotting are not damage, it's just the back of the case showing through.. a new piece of black velvet or paper placed inside of the case should get rid of them. Boxed shipping.
