Description: Here is a unique and rare individual piece of handmade, rustic wood carving of the Virgin Mary, specifically, the "Rosa Mistica" (Mystical Rose) an image of an Italian visionary in the 1940's. The image depicts three roses on the breast of the figure one each of red, yellow and gold. She is painted in antique white with a gold crown on her head and trimmed in gold. The bottom of the statue reads Eduardo Rangel, Villa D' Cura, Venezuela, Rosa Mistica 12/03/04. The sticker is from the Hannsi store in (Caracas) Venezuela that is a souvenir shop that sells mostly artisan goods and handcrafted items from Venezuela and is considered a destination museum like shop. This unique style of this figure is rustic but refined in its elegant slenderness standing 16-1/2 inches tall and about 1-1/2 inches wide. The base is 2-1/2 X 4 inches. It is made from a light weighed wood. A very special piece indeed.
