Description: This exquisite hand painted porcelain plaque depicts a charming scene in the baroque style of two women in a wooded setting sharing a secret while a cherub watches and listens from his hiding place. The plaque is mounted in an antique brass ribbon frame with a velvet back. There is a small ring on the back for wall mounting. Measuring 7.5 inches in height and 4.25 inches in width, the porcelain scene is delicately painted with great detail. There are added dimensional accents in white enamel best seen in picture 3. There is no maker's mark visible. I did not try to disassemble the piece to look for a hidden one. I suspect it is of German origin. In researching the plaque, I found this particular scene was used by the Oscar Schlegelmilch porcelain factory of Thuringia, Germany as part of its "Madonna" line of porcelain china. Please note: There is a small piece of brass missing at the top of the bow. Otherwise it is in lovely condition.
