Description: An adorable pink children's book on hot air balloons, that has been repurposed into a handsome junk journal, handcrafted from scratch, with original cover, PH neutral bookbinder's glue, recycled book ephemera, and string-bound signatures. Total page count is approximately 120. Overall measurements are 8h x 6w x just over d. A good-sized journal with a nice weighted feel to it! For the writer or sketch artist, there are plenty of pages that are blank or minimally decorated. Would also work well as a personal note journal, super cute black book, poetry book, travel companion, general list space, etc. I like these for poetry journals, writing down quotes, musicians, artists, authors, movies, things to research later, passing thoughts, phone numbers, etc, and it's fun to go through my old journals years later to see what interested me at the time. This is a vintage kid's book. Book corners are worn & lightly softened. Some pages show small wrinkles, holes, the occastional tear, aging spots, and unknown matter, but all of those are minimized in my selection process and I try to provide photos so you know what you're getting into. I try to use pages that are of substantial weight, and limit my use of glossy or thin pages, so it makes for a durable writing experience and every page is useable. PAGES/THEMES: boys/men, hot air balloons, torso figure sketches, 13, airplanes, pilots, topographic maps, artillery/firing, whiskey & soda, farm animals, Venus (a lil nudity), hand-lettering, human wings, architectural blueprints, typewriter keys, cub scouts, radio construction. *Not particularly for kids anymore, obviously. There are a good handful of pages from the original book reworked into this one, because the dialogue is sweet and the hot air balloon drawings are great, too. Words can be circled throughout to tell something subliminal. But still lots of blank space within. This item was handmade within the last six months and has been delicately stored. My M/O: I'm a book surgeon and paper afficionado. I love rescuing old books that have been discarded/damaged/decommissioned and repurposing them into functional works of art. My goal is to save them and give them a new life. I take great effort to make each one unique, and sometimes themed (subliminally or otherwise).
