Description: This is a sweet little witchy journal from a discarded kids' book, reusing the original cover & several of the original pages, PH neutral bookbinder's glue, recycled book ephemera, and string-bound signatures. Total page count is approximately 80. Overall measurements are 8h x 6w x d. A medium-sized thin journal for your bookbag or purse, with rigid corners and only a little softening. For the writer or sketch artist, there are plenty of pages that are blank or minimally decorated. Would also work well as a personal note journal, black book, poetry book, spell/potion journal, travel companion, general list space, etc. Fill it with a letter to a loved one! Could make a cute Halloween present, a gift for a witchy-minded friend, or for someone who loves Taming Of The Shrew! I find that people don't generally pull these off the shelf to flip through them, so they stay relatively private. ;) I like these for poetry journals, writing down quotes, musicians, artists, authors, movies, things to research later, passing thoughts, phone numbers, etc, and it's fun to go through my old journals years later to see what interested me at the time. This is a reclaimed vintage book. Book corners are sometimes worn & lightly softened. Some pages show small wrinkles, holes, the occasional tear, aging spots, and unknown matter, but all of those are minimized in my selection process and I try to provide photos so you know what you're getting into. There's a yellowish discoloration on the back cover, which could be the reason that this book was discarded. I try to use pages that are of substantial weight, and limit my use of glossy or thin pages, so it makes for a durable writing experience and every page is useable. This one has some pages of a better thickness, some with a linen-like finish, and some that are complimentary in color to the cover (cream/blueish/grey). PAGES/THEMES: cats, hide & seek, Daisy, Brady, Mary Jane, police, shrews, bullfrogs, water, 1978, horse-drawn carriages, models, dolls, graphs, cattails, castles, rabbits, beach, bats, library, children, rooftops, blue, orange, pink. This item was handmade within the last six months and has been delicately stored. My M/O: I'm a book surgeon and paper afficionado. I love rescuing old books that have been discarded/damaged/decommissioned and repurposing them into functional works of art. My goal is to save them and give them a new life. These take a lot of time to construct, and I try to price them accordingly. I take great effort to make each one unique, and sometimes themed (subliminally or otherwise).
