This kind of serious knife is not made of stamped and glued parts; there is a cottage industry of cutlers in Pakistan taking advantage of local materials and re-purposed metals, worked, shaped and assembled into unique, one-off designs. The combination of at-hand metals into a home-brewed damascus gives new and better characteristics to the reforged steels, and a uniquely etched blade to every knife. The "village" manufacturing groups of specialist workers building knives, swords, and machetes, using local materials, elementary machines, inventive techniques, and personal detailing and assembly makes every knife an artwork in itself.
