Description: “Hansel And Gretchel” (1915) 8mm Film, John E Ince, Early Fairy Tale, Lil Creepy This appears to be a very early version of the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel where an evil step mother convinces her husband to leave the kids in the woods due to a famine. The kids then encounter a witch that wants to eat them. It’s the stuff nightmares are made of. They are reunited with their father in the end but it’s still real creepy. I could not find the actual release date for this film and estimated the date based on the filmography and that John Ince’s studio burned down in 1924 according to one web source. This film is silent. FILM CONDITION: Film appears to be in acceptable condition, ran smoothly and has no detectable vinegar syndrome. There is some streaking and speckling and film waves a bit during the run as shown on video. 5” reel Please see photos to verify item condition. Sold as is. Thank you for looking!
